The challenge

A professional membership organisation posted plastic membership cards to 10,000+ members annually. Cards were frequently lost or damaged. Members called support to check their expiry date or member number — information that was on the card they couldn’t find.

The solution

Passinstance issued a Wallet membership card for each member via the API. The card showed member tier, ID number, and expiry date. The team configured an automated push notification 30 days before expiry, prompting renewal directly from the lock screen.

What changed

New members received their digital card the same day they joined — no waiting for post. Renewals triggered a pass update automatically. Support calls about card status dropped as members could check their pass at any time.
